(project for GATE Summer Institute)

If I could be any goddess, I would be a goddess of nature. My name would be Demetra, which is Greek for "earth mother." I would have power over animals, plant life, and natural disasters. At my mercy would be the citizens of Greece, and they would be punished severely for neglecting any part of their natural surroundings. I could take form as a very beautiful human woman, and would lead those who were to be punished to their dooms deep within the forests. How ever, those who worship me well woud be rewarded kindly with wealth and prosperity. I would not accept sacrifices or tangible gifts as worship, but they would take extreme and careful care of our Planet Earth in return for the handsome reward I would promise (see previous sentence).
