Tired of the boring default theme on your Student Community site? Change it to one of many cool themes built into the system, by clicking on Account Settings (after logging in, of course) and then Change Theme. There are a variety of themes to choose from, with more being added all the time. You can even modify them to suit your taste (not for the faint of heart!)

Want something other than the head with a question mark for your Student Community account? Simply click on Account Settings (at the top of the screen when you log in) followed by Your Site Picture to upload a picture for your account. You can store several pictures, if you want, and change them whenever it suits you.

If you are using an RSS compatible web browser (such as Apple's Safari or Firefox on all platforms,) you can subscribe to any user's blog, and add a listing directly to your tool bar or bookmarks menu. By doing this, your browser will keep track of blog entries for the users you have subscribed to, and notify you when something new is posted to their blog. To subscribe, simply navigate to the users blog (by clicking on their picture in a blog entry, or searching for them,) and click the RSS button that appears in your address bar (a blue button that says "RSS" in Safari, or a green square button in the address bar, directly after the address of the web site.)

You can embed images into your blog post or link to any file in your repository. First, you must have some files in you repository (click "Your Files" to add files to your repository.)

If images are smaller than 400pixels by 400pixels (see image below) they will embed directly into the post. For all other files such as audio, video and large images a link will be created to that item.

When making a blog post if you want to embed a file use the "embed a file" option located underneath "keywords" and "Access restrictions" just below the area where you write your blog post. See the following image:

Once you find the file you want to link to, press "add" and you will see some code appear in your blog posting. You can move this to any location in the post - it depends where you want the link to the file or the image to appear.

Save your post and that is it!
