Hey everybody-

     We only have two, well more like one and a half  more days here at Rosedell!!!   How exciting, and yet sad for some. I mean I've been here for eight or nine years (that's including preschool), and it will be a little sad to leave.

   I just can't believe we're growing so fast!!! Well I'll be seeing most of you guys at Seco, and to the people that aren't go there, i hope to see you around.

      Well, have a great summer, and congratulations to the graduating class of 2009!!

Question:  What is happiness?

My answer:  Happiness is that feeling when you may not have won or succeeded, but you at least tried.

        Happiness is when you finally realize someone cares and will always be there for you.

        Happiness is finding your first love.

        Happiness is the moment sadness fills your mind, and then suddenly finds a happy thought or memory that takes over.

Dear Mr. President Obama,

                “America, America God set his grace on thee. And grant thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.”

 Hello. My name is Amina, pronounced Ameena. I’m a twelve year-old sixth-grader from Rosedell Elementary. Congratulations! How does it feel to be the first African-American president? I’m Philipino and Moroccan. You gave me hope to help me realize that if I try hard enough, I might, not will, might be able to do what I’ve always wanted too.

 So, I’ve had a few concerns about some issues. First of all, I was wondering why economy was so bad? I’ve been seeing a lot of store go out of business, and to tell the truth, my family’s going through a rough time too. So I was just wondering about what’s been going on?

 Okay, so off the topic of concerns, what does the White House look like from the inside? Oh, and how many stories high is it? Do you by any chance have pets? If you do what’s their name(s)? And what breed are they? I think that’s enough questions. Well, do well in the White House for the next four years. I believe you’ll do fine.

 “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

My friend Kyle is as funny as the number one comedian, that can even make animals laugh.

He’s as short as the height from my toes to my shoulder, making my neck hurt from looking down at him.

 He is as fun as an amusement park, never letting me get bored because there are                          so many rides.

             Kyle sings as much as the chatter-box you can never get to shut-up even for air.

 My best bud is as active as the lead athlete, playing their sport for the fun of it.

 He is as understanding as a psychologist, listening to his patients with their problems, so he could help find a solution.

 He’s as trusting as a locked drawer full of secrets, that had its key thrown away.

 Kyle is as close as a brother from another mother

And mast of all he is as much of a Kyle as a best friend to me!!!

            Reason one: It will make you smarter. Some reasons why you actually get smarter is because knowing two languages can help you communicate with other people. Laura-Ann Petitto, a researcher at Dartmouth College, stated that “bilingual children can perform certain cognitive tasks more accurately than monolinguals”.  We may not be able to learn French as well as a baby who’s been surrounded by French speakers their whole life, but mabe we can. And although it might be complicated to learn French, there will be open possibilities if you try. For example: you can make new friends. Not everyone speaks English. Thogh not everyone speaks French either. But mabe you know someone who speaks French, but never been able to communicate with them. Well that’s why you should learn French.More ...

            Reason two:It’s better to learn a language while you’re still pretty young. Usually when you learn another language while you’re young, you can remember it and learn it better than learning another language when you’re thirty (30). Even if you just learn the basics for now, it will still be better than not learning at all. Did you know that French is “the language of love”? Well, it is, and Valentines Day is coming up. Wink, wink.

Reason three: A lot of countries in the world speak French.   Mabe not everywhere in the world speak French, but a whole lot do. A proven fact is that at least five of the seven continents do. Actually, some of the countries that do are: France,  Canada, Africa, Haiti, Alegeria, Tunisia, Morroco, Syria, Brazil, and Louisiana(USA).That’s probably because French is the second most spoken language in the world. Seriously, it is.  So it’s really good to speak French if you ever travel. And, if you go to lets say France, if you speak French instead of English there, it will show respect to the people who live there.

            Okay, let’s review. Reason one: It will make you smarter if you learn French. Reason two: It would be better to learn French while you’re still pretty young. And Reason three: A whole lot of places in the world speak French.

   The main characters of this story are the kids fom the 30th story.There's a chapter on each kid,the teachers,and even on a character based upon the writer named Louis,who's actually  the yard teacher in the story.

    I gave this book 5 stars,now it's your turn to chose it's rate.Please read it,you'll get a pretty good laugh on the way.
